It all started in Mogok.
The founder's grandparents mined and traded gems in Mogok, the valley in northern Burma known for the finest rubies and sapphires in the world. Everything began there.

Poe represents silk in Burmese. Like silk, our stones are rare, natural, and refined. Named after our founder's mother. Her family traded gems in the highlands of Burma fifty years ago. Three generations later, we carry it forward, out to the world.

1980
The mines closed.
Private mining ended and the family moved to Yangon. The valley stayed behind, but the trade went with them.
1990
Aung Jewelry.
In Yangon the family opened Aung Jewelry. The work was no longer only trading stones, it was setting them.
2010
Shwe Sin.
The family's own cutting studio. From rough to polished, every stone is now cut and graded under one roof.
2026
Poe Gems and Jewelry.
We now trade from Bangkok, Thailand, open to buyers everywhere. Three generations in, the standard for a stone has not changed.

The fine gem trade is usually closed to outside buyers. We wanted to open it up, and this is where to start.
